Caorle

Caorle is a multifaceted town where sea and beach mingle with history and tradition. Situated on the Adriatic Sea between Venice and Trieste, Caorle was founded at least two thousand years ago, as evidenced by the many Roman artefacts found in its territory and at the bottom of the sea.

The Laguna

The lagoon of Caorle, the world that was Ernest Hemingway's, stretches for thousands of hectares among reed thickets and expanses of water that create landscape views of unforgettable beauty. Here stand the 'casoni', the ancient fishermen's dwellings, built of marsh cane, a unique example of valley architecture.

It is possible to visit this unspoilt paradise with boats and guided tours.

Our characteristic Casone by Mr Bruno, the ancient love for the lagoon and the life of the ancient founders of the city of Caorle.

The Fishing Harbor

The Porto Peschereccio is located in the old city centre converted into a pedestrian zone: old houses painted in soft pastel colours, amidst calli and campielli, recall the Venetian vocation of the town, contributing to a suffused magical atmosphere.

The Madonnina and the Bell Tower

The Church of "Madonnina dell'Angelo", which stands on the sea cliff, is a reminder of the seafaring soul of the inhabitants of Caorle, who have lived from fishing for centuries.

The cylindrical, sloping bell tower is the symbol of Caorle. Erected in the year 1070, it preserves an ancient elegance that culminates in the central loggia of 24 single-lancet windows, reminiscent of the hours of the day.

The beach

Running from north to south, Caorle's beach stretches over 18 kilometres of fine golden sand, starting from the Levante beach to meet the Ponente beach, both adjacent to the historic centre, continuing with the Porto S. Margherita beach, with its nautical vocation, and ending with the Duna Verde beach, a garden city.
